What: Marietta's Room presents new paintings and prints from Joshua Mays, whose art has had many ties with the works of several recording artists including Jill Scott and Ursula Rucker. This exhibit will take the female form and catapult us into another time where regal beauty is animated in war, passion and sometimes, verges on the grotesque. Each piece contains a near cinematic sub-plot exploring the necessity of conflict, lust and the multiple dimensions of self.
