Blog: The Black History Month Looks of the Day

by Passion Rutledge
...and Tumblr possibly the new fashion bible?

There's one thing to see fashion on the runway or on the mannequins in your favorite stores. But I'm mostly inspired by clothes that I actually see on people. Especially when it comes to vintage get-ups. There's nothing better than looking through authentic vintage photography to spark an idea for a modern twist on an old look. Mostly though, when I'm looking for my next look, I like to see how beautiful clothes fit on people that aren't a size -2. Admittedly, then, this has lead me to Facebook stalk a lot of fashionable strangers with interesting defaults. But I may have finally found a way around my creepster ways. Tumblr, yet another social network I don't quite understand, has a series of micro-blogs from users that love fashion. I'm already head over heels for one called Vintage Black Glamour. And I have recently started perusing another one called Black Fashion. So look below for the two looks of the day from these two Tumblr accounts celebrating Black beauty. One vintage and one modern.

MyNewLook

I do not know this young lady but I will be stealing her look. And neutrals are definitely in this Spring.
