Since she has only been around for a few years, many are still unaware of the creative mind behind Keinice, (pronounced K-Nice) a private label that can be found in Philadelphia boutiques Omoi, Echochic and Vagabond. All Keinice pieces are intricately tailored contemporary masterpieces. For her Fall 2008 collection, designer Keiko Ozaki has taken her inspiration from the streets of Tokyo and Philadelphia’s own Art Museum. A must have for the season are her Dolman Sleeve and Hooded Parkas constructed of nylon and polyester detailed with drawstring toggles, reversible zippers and belts to synch and show off the waist. The lightweight jackets are meant to be worn as casual coats/cardigans on a crisp fall day.

Keiko Ozaki is originally from Wakayama, Japan. Growing up she studied sculpture and Fashion in Osaka Japan and NYC. She has 25 years of designing under her belt holding prestige positions as design assistant, pattern maker and head designer of Junko Koshino and Viva-You throughout the 80’s and 90’s in Japan. In 2000 she met her husband who is originally from Philadelphia, and in 2005 they moved back to the city of brotherly love.
Keinice was established 2 years ago with the intention to make simple street-smart clothing for women with a stylish twist. All Keinice Clothing is produced locally in a South Philadelphia Factory. On the regular Keiko can be found at flee markets from London and South Asia to New York seeking vintage finds for future influences. Keinice parkas retail between $280 and $350.
