Joseph's Coat

What: Joseph's Coat is a series of large paintings, by artist Douglas Witmer, intended for the Philadelphia Cathedral. The exhibit's title is taken from the biblical story of Jacob, who gives his favorite son Joseph a splendidly-colored coat, but rather than trying to illustrate the story Witmer uses early childhood memories of the story and the idea of a gift as beginning points for a new exploration of color. Exhibit is open Monday-Friday from 10AM-2PM with and opening reception on February 5th at 6PM.
