What: This exhibition features eight of Philly's best unsung photographers of the '60s and '70s. The work is by students, faculty and founders of Philadelphia's burgeoning photography schools like the University of Arts (formerly known as Philadelphia College of Art), as well as Temple University's Tyler School of Art.

What: These sound installations, recorded in English and Italian, delve into the rhythmic differences of language as participants simply recite the days of week. Listened to collectively or in isolation, the result is as The New Yorker describes: "the human voice making unintentional music as it evokes the passage of time."

East Asian Art

What: This two part exhibit highlights similar art themes across neighboring cultures. The first part features Korean screen paintings with notable Chinese narratives like General Guo Ziyi’s Banquet and the Hundred Children. These images are presented alongside Chinese ceramics of the Qing dynasty (1616–1912).

Going From Nowhere: Accumulated Images

What:  For this exhibition, the Internet becomes both a practical means for acquiring imagery as well as a conceptual strategy.  The exhibition includes work from 8 artists from around the world shooting with any digital device (camera, phone, computer) who will then submit images electronically to PPAC each week.  PPAC will print the images and add them to the exhibition, thereby taking the show from nothing to a full show over 3 months.

GRAMMY Telecast Viewing Party

Revolving Ocelot Orchestra w/ Tongue Sculptures, Signals and The Meals

What:  The easiest way to describe the experimental project Revolving Ocelot Orchestra is to refer to the list of bands from which it draws it's constantly "revolving" lineup: Toy soldiers, The Extraordinaires, Circadian Rhythms, Hop Along, Da Comrade, Ape School, etc.  A solid group of oddities round out the bill, including Tongue Sculptures and Signals.

Wrought & Crafted

What: Philadelphia's several centuries worth of rich history in metalwork inspired this exhibition. On display are works (hollowware,  sculpture, and jewelry) by notable 21st century Philadelphia metalsmiths as well as recognized artists around the country.
