Please join us this Friday from 6 - 8 pm for the opening reception of Within Reach, a two-person exhibition featuring photographs by Keiko Hiromi and Tamaki Obuchi. Keiko Hiromi's series of black-and-white photographs focuses on the daily lives of youth on Monadnock Street in Dorchester, MA. The project is a striking portrait of the vibrancy and struggles of a mostly immigrant community as well as a personal inquiry into what it means to be a part of a community in American society. Tamaki Obuchi, based in Japan, makes delicate botanical photographs using an 8x10 camera which she prints using the exquisite platinum-palladium process. Employing soft focus and subdued tonality, Obuchi accentuates the poetry of natural forms.
