Hobo with a Shotgun Premiers at the Ritz Bourse

by James Boney

On behalf of 215 Magazine, I was pleased to host the Philadelphia premier of “Hobo With a Shotgun” on May 20th the Ritz Bourse. With prizes to give away, and a packed theater to give them to, the event was surely a memorable one for all in attendance.

The fun spirited atmosphere was magnified by the over-the-top on screen images of the wickedly inventive film. A fresh change from more uninspired summer films (Pirates of the Caribbean 4), “Hobo With a Shotgun” is a wild, no punches pulled homage to 70s exploitation cinema. The colors pop like neon signs and the blood flows by the bucket loads as Hauer plays a homeless man determined to effect changes in a corrupt town. Or, as an in-film headline reads: "Hobo stops begging, demands change."

With fantastic lines like, “When life gives you razor blades, you make a baseball bat covered in razor blades!” the film is an easy recommend for those of you looking for a no-holds-barred, delightfully twisted summer flick.
