Megawords Storefront Exhibition

What: Megawords --- the free Philadelphia-based magazine that collaborates with dozens of renowned and unknown artists and thinkers to cover the world through words and pictures --- will leap off the page and into a month-long storefront exhibition during September 2008. The Megawords storefront project and exhibition will include a month-long period of intense activity including permanent and rotating installations, guest speakers, musical performances, workshops and film screenings.

Where: The Megawords Storefront. 1125 N. Cherry Street (corners of 11th and Cherry Streets).

What:   In its fourth year the Rittenhouse Fine Art Show will feature 140 artists from around the country for three days. For 75 years local artists have been showing off their original art work at Rittenhouse and now we can all take advantage of it.

What: Four bands will come together to explore all aspects of the music spectrum. The Vivian Girls are an indie punk band based out of Brooklyn and are perfect in balancing the equally new wave sound of Black Time from the UK. The FNU Ronnies are from right here in Philadelphia and offer a different twist on a punk sound. And from the West Coast comes Static Static, an electronic garage group who claim to be a "dance band." Prepare for some interesting sounds.
