Megawords Storefront Exhibition

What: Megawords --- the free Philadelphia-based magazine that collaborates with dozens of renowned and unknown artists and thinkers to cover the world through words and pictures --- will leap off the page and into a month-long storefront exhibition during September 2008. The Megawords storefront project and exhibition will include a month-long period of intense activity including permanent and rotating installations, guest speakers, musical performances, workshops and film screenings.

Where: The Megawords Storefront. 1125 N. Cherry Street (corners of 11th and Cherry Streets).

What:  19th century artist Thomas Chambers' 15 prints will be displayed including American Marine and Landscape Painter.

Robert Pollard's Boston Spaceships

What: Robert Pollard from Guided By Voices joining up with fellow GBV band members plus peeps from The Decemberists. Expect the usual Bob Pollard experience- two + hour set, one case of beer on stage for himself and lots of new and old material including classic GBV stuff.

Terror Behind the Walls
Friday, 09/19/2008 to Sunday, 11/02/2008@ 7P.M. to 10P.M. weeknights, 7P.M. to 11P.M. Fridays & Sundays, 7P.M. to 12A.M. Saturdays

What:    Called “perfect for Halloween” by the New York Times and ranked No. 5 in the nation by A.O.L. Digital City, Terror Behind the Walls is the region’s premier haunted attraction - a special, spooky Halloween tour of Eastern state Penitentiary.
