Megawords Storefront Exhibition

What: Megawords --- the free Philadelphia-based magazine that collaborates with dozens of renowned and unknown artists and thinkers to cover the world through words and pictures --- will leap off the page and into a month-long storefront exhibition during September 2008. The Megawords storefront project and exhibition will include a month-long period of intense activity including permanent and rotating installations, guest speakers, musical performances, workshops and film screenings.

Where: The Megawords Storefront. 1125 N. Cherry Street (corners of 11th and Cherry Streets).

Digital Storytelling Workshop
Friday, 09/26/2008 to Sunday, 09/28/2008@ 9AM-5PM

What: Empty out that shoebox of old photos and home movies and learn how to compile video stories using Adobe Photoshop anf Final Cut Express. Whether the content is travel, memorial or a scandalous sex tape with your celebrity ex, take the experience home on a CD and share the memories!

Prasanna

What: Prasanna is among the few artists performing South Indian music with electric guitar, earning him recognition for outstanding work as a canatic performer on a western instrument. His guitar accommodates the diverse vocal- influenced sounds of canatic tradition. A full-percussion ensemble, including mridangam, ghatam, and kanjira-rarely heard in the West- accompanies Prasanna during this special Bride engagement.

Terror Behind the Walls

What:    Called “perfect for Halloween” by the New York Times and ranked No. 5 in the nation by A.O.L. Digital City, Terror Behind the Walls is the region’s premier haunted attraction - a special, spooky Halloween tour of Eastern state Penitentiary.
