What: In its third exhibition of Fleisher Art Memorial's Wind Challenge series, Challenge 3 showcases the work of three talented artists. Johanna Inman will be showing old photographs focusing on disregarded books and highlighting the subtleties of time and decomposition; Yvonne Lung will show a video installation based on stories told to her by Chinese immigrants and Constantina Zavitsanos will be showing unique, engaging sculptures. Gallery hours are 11AM - 5PM.

Philly Youth Poetry Night

What: The Philadelphia Youth Poetry Movement presents a night of open mic and slam poetry at its finest. The movement creates opportunities for the youth to perform at surrounding events and gives them the chance to express their critical views on drug abuse, peer pressure, domestic violence, sexuality, violence, and other societal challenges to generations of all kinds.

Serve, Protect, Party!

What: Rox Events presents "Serve, Protect, Party!", a charity event for the Philadelphia Police's Survivors Fund (for families of fallen officers). This event will include food, beverages (three bars), raffles, and six live local bands. All proceeds (food, drink, raffle, admission) go to the fund. Bands include pop/rock band The Chickpeas, pop/surf rock The Vultures, jazz/alt/reggae fusion Smokestack Jim, rock band Dope Sick Girls, powerpop grunge Absolute Beckman, and experimental rock band Formerly Known. Raffle prizes include a Nintendo Wii, iPod, ticket package for the Franklin Institute, Phillies gear and more.

Summer Solstice Celebration

What: Celebrate the longest day of the year at the Kimmel Center's annual 15-hour party spectacular! During the day, enjoy kid-friendly activities, games and face painting, chair massages, story slams, music and dance performances. When the sun sets, get down with indie bands, singer-songwriters, club dancing and even a drag show. Finally, as the sun rises, bang in the new day with an enormous drum circle, BYOD (bring your own drum)!
