Harry And The Potters
Sunday, 06/21/2009@ 5PM
What: Joe and Paul DeGeorge like to play dress up as Harry Potter. Every little detail too: the geek glasses, the v-neck sweaters, the private school ties. All of it. Except they aren't playing children's music per say. The Boston duo kicks it with drum samples, garage rock guitars and squirrelly synths, bringing a gritty edge to such Potter paeans as "Stick It to Dolores" and "The Foil (Malfoy)". At one Boston show played in a library of course, Joe introduced a song by asking kids and twenty-somethings alike if they "Know about the man?" "The man is someone who keeps you from rocking!" Indeed. Think of Weezer with a bookworm sensibility basically. Bring the kids or leave them at home. This is going to be one show to gawk at.
Where: At The First Unitarian Church 2125 Chestnut Street (22nd and Chestnut Sts)
Cost: $10
